The Honda HRC team has now concluded the sixth round of the 2026 FIM Superbike World Championship at Spain’s Motorland Aragón. With Dixon sitting out Sunday’s races, Chantra was the squad’s sole representative on track on this final day of action.
After a short warm-up session, Chantra lined up eighteenth on the grid for the Superpole Race. Losing a little ground through the opening turns, the Thai rider worked hard to recover the lost positions, moving back into eighteenth within a few laps. Avoiding the mistakes that caught out some of his rivals, Somkiat crossed the line in eighteenth place.
Later in the day, the weekend’s final race was held over a distance of 18 laps, again in hot and sunny conditions. Starting from eighteenth on the grid, rookie Chantra gained two positions through the first corners, moving up to sixteenth. Staying close to the riders ahead, the Thai rider moved into the point zone on lap eight following a mistake by a rival ahead. Although his pace dropped slightly in the closing stages, Chantra held firm in fifteenth place to complete the race and add another championship point to his tally aboard the CBR1000RR-R.
The Honda HRC team now looks ahead to the next championship round, set to take place at Italy’s Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli on 12–14 June, where Jake Dixon is expected to return to action alongside teammate Somkiat Chantra.

“Today we had both the Superpole Race and Race 2. To be honest, we were expecting a little more. In the Superpole Race we didn’t make the best rear tyre choice, and I struggled throughout. In Race 2 this afternoon, after gaining a couple of positions at the start, I tried to stay with the group ahead of me, just as I did yesterday. From the beginning to the middle of the race, the feeling was not bad, and my lap times were also better than yesterday’s. In the second half of the race, though, I started to struggle a little because we were experiencing some vibration that wasn’t there before. We understood what happened, so we will keep working, keep trying and continue to improve.”
